Wakeboarding in Hua Hin & Pranburi: The Cable Park Most People Miss

Wakeboarding in Hua Hin & Pranburi: The Cable Park Most People Miss - Wake Parks Thailand blog, wakeboarding in Bangkok, Phuket and across Thailand

Kite Cable Thailand in Pranburi is the only cable park in the Hua Hin area - and one of the highest-rated wake experiences in the country. Here is what you need to know.

Most wakeboarding guides focus on Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya. But three hours south of Bangkok, in the Pranburi area near Hua Hin, there is a cable park that most visitors never hear about.

Update: Black Mountain Wakepark in Hua Hin has permanently closed. Kite Cable Thailand in Pranburi is now the only cable park in the Hua Hin/Pranburi region.

Kite Cable Thailand (Pranburi)

Kite Cable Thailand is a hidden gem about 30 minutes south of Hua Hin in the Pranburi area. It is a two-tower cable system on a private lake, and it consistently ranks as one of the highest-rated wake experiences in the country.

Open: Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00. Closed Wednesdays.

Price: From approximately 800 THB (around $25 USD) per session.

TripAdvisor Rating: 4.9/5 (56 reviews) - ranked #3 outdoor activity in Pak Nam Pran.

Phone: +66 96 675 4033.

Address: 53/1 Moo 2, Pak Nam Pran, 77220, Thailand.

Website: kitecable.com

The park is family-run with a personal, welcoming atmosphere. The twin cable system is separately and manually controlled, allowing two different groups to ride at the same time. The operator can slow it down for beginners or speed it up for experienced riders - a feature you do not get at the larger automated cable parks. On-site facilities include a small shop, changing rooms, toilets, a bar, and a restaurant serving a small but well-reviewed menu.

Kite Cable also offers kiteboarding on the nearby beach, so if the wind is right you can do both water sports in one day.

How to Get There

From Hua Hin, drive south on Route 4 for about 30 minutes toward Pranburi. The park is signposted off the main road. From Bangkok, it is approximately 3 hours by car.

What Happened to Black Mountain Wakepark?

Black Mountain Wakepark in Hua Hin has permanently closed. It was previously located within the Black Mountain Water Park complex and operated a cable system on a lagoon. The water park itself (slides, pools) may still operate, but the cable wakeboarding component is no longer available. This makes Kite Cable Thailand the sole cable park option in the region.

WHO IS KITE CABLE FOR?

If you are staying in the Hua Hin or Pranburi area for a beach holiday and want to add wakeboarding to your trip, Kite Cable is your only cable park option without driving back to Bangkok. It is ideal for dedicated riders who want a personal, coaching-focused experience with smaller crowds and more attention than the big Bangkok parks.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO BANGKOK?

Bangkok has 8 cable parks within 90 minutes of the city centre, with sessions from 400 THB. The Bangkok parks have larger cable systems, more obstacles, and night riding options that Pranburi does not offer.

But if you are already in the Hua Hin area, driving 3 hours back to Bangkok just to ride makes no sense. Kite Cable gives you solid cable wakeboarding without leaving the coast.
