Wakeboarding in Hua Hin & Pranburi: 2 Cable Parks Most People Miss

Most wakeboarding guides focus on Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya. But two hours south of Bangkok, in the Hua Hin and Pranburi area, there are two cable parks that most visitors never hear about.

BLACK MOUNTAIN WAKEPARK (HUA HIN)

Black Mountain Wakepark is located within the Black Mountain Water Park complex in Hua Hin. It operates a cable system on a lagoon surrounded by the water park's facilities.

Open: Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 to 17:00 (weekends only).

Price: 600 THB for a 2-hour session. Board rental is 300 THB extra if you do not have your own.

Google Rating: 4.4/5 with over 1,800 reviews.

Phone: 081 944 1116.

The park is best combined with a visit to the water park itself, which has slides, pools, and a wave pool. It is a solid option for families where not everyone wants to wakeboard. The cable setup is straightforward and suitable for beginners through intermediate riders.

How to get there: Hua Hin is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours south of Bangkok by car. Black Mountain is about 15 minutes west of Hua Hin town centre. If you are staying in Hua Hin for a beach holiday, the wake park is an easy half-day activity.

KITE CABLE THAILAND (PRANBURI)

Kite Cable Thailand is a hidden gem about 30 minutes south of Hua Hin in the Pranburi area. It is a two-tower cable system on a private lake, and it consistently ranks as one of the highest-rated wake experiences in the country.

Open: Daily, 10:00 to 18:00.

Price: 400 to 600 THB for 2 to 4 sets.

Google Rating: 4.6/5 (94 reviews).

TripAdvisor Rating: 4.9/5 (56 reviews) - nearly perfect.

Phone: 096 675 4033.

The park is family-run with a personal, welcoming atmosphere. The cable speed is manually controlled, which means they can slow it down for beginners or speed it up for experienced riders. This is a feature you do not get at the larger automated cable parks.

Kite Cable also offers kiteboarding on the nearby beach, so if the wind is right you can do both water sports in one day.

How to get there: From Hua Hin, drive south on Route 4 for about 30 minutes toward Pranburi. The park is signposted off the main road. From Bangkok, it is approximately 3 hours by car.

WHO ARE THESE PARKS FOR?

If you are staying in the Hua Hin or Pranburi area for a beach holiday and want to add wakeboarding to your trip, these two parks are your closest options. You do not need to drive all the way back to Bangkok.

Black Mountain is better for families (combined with the water park) and weekend warriors. Kite Cable is better for dedicated riders who want a more personal, coaching-focused experience.

Neither park is as large or well-known as TWP Lumlukka or ESC in Bangkok, but that is part of the appeal. Smaller crowds, more personal attention, and a completely different vibe from the big Bangkok cable parks.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO BANGKOK?

Bangkok has 7 cable parks within 90 minutes of the city centre, with sessions from 400 THB. The Bangkok parks have larger cable systems, more obstacles, and night riding options that Hua Hin and Pranburi do not offer.

But if you are already in the Hua Hin area, driving 3 hours back to Bangkok just to ride makes no sense. Black Mountain and Kite Cable give you solid cable wakeboarding without leaving the coast.
