Nut's Air Raley Journey: A Week Training at Wakegarden and Songkran at Taco Lake

Nut's Air Raley Journey: A Week Training at Wakegarden and Songkran at Taco Lake - Wake Parks Thailand blog, wakeboarding in Bangkok, Phuket and across Thailand

Natthiko "Nut" Matthiphong spent the week training his air raley at Wakegarden, landing it on day one. Today he is at Taco Lake for Songkran - and the place is packed. Plus: the owner hints at exciting additions coming soon.

Meet Nut - Chasing the Air Raley

Every rider has a trick that keeps them coming back to the water. For Natthiko "Nut" Matthiphong, that trick is the air raley - the moment when you let the cable pull you completely horizontal above the water, arms stretched overhead, body flat in the air like a human flag. It looks impossible the first time you see it. It feels impossible the first few dozen times you try it.

Nut has been documenting his air raley attempts on TikTok, and his latest video shows the progression in raw form - the commitment, the crashes, and the gradual improvement that only comes from putting in the hours.

A Week of Training at Wakegarden - Air Raley on Day One

Nut spent the week at Wakegarden Wake Park, putting in serious air raley training sessions. Here is what he had to say about it:

"Training at Wakegarden Wakepark was a great experience. The instructors were expert and provided excellent guidance, ensuring safe training. I even managed to do the air raley on my very first day. The instructors taught me the steps carefully to ensure my safety."

That is not a small statement. Landing an air raley on your first day at a new park speaks to the quality of coaching at Wakegarden - their instructors clearly understand how to break down advanced tricks into manageable progressions while keeping riders safe. He went back every day that week, refining the technique.

Songkran at Taco Lake - Busier Than Ever

Today Nut is at Taco Lake for Songkran, and the place is packed. The staff say it has been their busiest stretch in recent memory - riders filling every cable slot from the morning open through the floodlit night sessions. Songkran brings people out into the water all over Thailand, and Taco Lake's 400 THB full-day pricing means it catches a huge share of first-timers who are already in a water mindset from the street battles.

I spoke with the owner, and there is a surprise coming for Taco Lake - new additions to the park that we are not ready to reveal just yet. Watch this space. We will share the details in the next article as soon as they are confirmed.

Behind the Scenes: Nut and Wakegarden's New 2-Tower System

What most riders do not know is that Nut is also the website designer behind Wakegarden's new 2-tower booking platform. If you have used Wakegarden's online booking system - which is arguably the most advanced of any wake park in Thailand, with digital wallets, session scheduling, VIP loyalty tiers, and automated cancellation refunds - you have used Nut's work. He is not just a rider; he is helping shape the infrastructure that makes these parks run.
